Tracking blood from donor to recipient
A management application for blood collection and donation centres, tracking stock, donors and recipients, alongside contributions to internal projects.
My first engagement, as an intern: internal projects at TEC SARL — Monetic and Tec-ticket among them — built with cross-functional teams.
The blood bank
The piece I own in that period is a management application for blood collection and donation centres. It tracks blood inventory, donors and recipients: what was collected, from whom, what is in stock, and who received it.
It is a modest application that taught an immodest lesson about data. A blood unit that exists physically but not in the system is a unit nobody will use in time, and a record that outlives the unit is worse — it promises something the shelf cannot deliver. Traceability was not a feature request here; it was the whole point of the software.
